Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire – off market acquisition
Amounting to about 3500 acres (1416 hectares), the Tabley Estate was owned by Manchester University who approached a number of investors including The Crown Estate with a view to selling the estate off market. Strategically located between the affluent town of Knutsford and the M6, this diverse estate has considerable potential should Knutsford need to expand over the long term.
The Crown bought the estate for £35m and this was its largest such acquisition for many years. It included over 30 farm lettings, 52 residential lettings and 13 commercial leases including Cheshire Showground.
Nick was responsible for this successful purchase, leading the internal and external teams, securing Board approvals and then ensuring exchange and completion took place within a tight timescale
